Is there any evidence of unions harassing workers to sign card checks? Shouldn't we attack the harassing behavior of management rather than abandon secret ballots altogether? Should management have the opportunity to vigorously argue against unionization? What are the best articles on the "card check" debate from a middle-of-the-road viewpoint, i.e. an article that discusses the pluses and minuses. I am sure there are articles that are one-sided, but I would love to understand both sides of the debate. It is fascinating to me that the charter cap battle is really about the "card check" but most people in NYC have no idea what a "card check" is! I think the UFT and Randi could do a better job of making clear that this is the main issue? Or do they not want people to know this??
