To even imply that teachers want this is an outright lie. We have had assessment tools for as long as I can remember. To see it as a "tool" to help enhance teaching is so below the belt. But then again you praised the Open Market and then never posted the statistics again. Randi's statement to the NY Times implying that many teachers have wanted such a tool is an outright lie. Why is it that when interviewing for a new position, the principal can ask to see this report??? Isn't that so it can be used as part of the hiring evaluation. Well mark my words, the DoE under a Bloomberg 3rd term will find a way to use it as a firing tool the way they are doing now with ATRs. It's amazing how the UFT under this leadership either doesn't get it, or is getting something even bigger under the table.
