The Education Wonks have posted this weeks Carnival of Education.
NCLBlog has the testimony of a New Orleans teacher who testified before Congress.
Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC) asks on Daily Kos why several studies commissioned by the government haven’t seen the light of day. John at NCBLog follows up on the question. An acquaintance who worked in the Clinton Department of Education related in an email that during the 90’s the department would go out of its way to avoid appearances of partisan motivation at the Department of Education, something that doesn’t appear to hamper the Bush administration.
While many of the education sites on your left discuss policy issues and education on a daily basis, there has been a full borne discussion on Daily Kos about NCLB and other education issues. Diarist teacherken who has always been a regular contributor to education discussions at the site and this week he has several posts about the Moral Implications of NCLB, as well as a resource for NCLB. These are obviously outside of the long running discussions at the AFT’s NCLBlog.
For any Las Vegas readers, Ken is also running a panel this summer on education at Yearly Kos, a convention put together by the Daily Kos community.
