The public and even the media know that Klein’s wonder drugs are nothing more than superbugs.

I wish I could agree with that. But if you read the op-ed pages of the papers, which I do religiously, they tend to uncritically accept the Tweedies' spin. Admittedly, the print reporters are often better, presenting other viewpoints--in recent years they've even begun to talk to teachers.

I find it incredible the way the papers reported Klein's PR attempt to open up the UFT contract he signed and co-wrote, while not noting his concurrent refusal to renegotiate with bus companies facing excessive energy costs. The uncritical way that TNP's report was presented, with no one examining their obvious conflict of interest or slick manipulation of statistics, was equally remarkable.

There is definitely a case to be made. Now I realize the UFT has been very vocal about this---but we're not getting our message out anywhere remotely as effectively as Tweed is.

We really ought to do something about that.

As a teacher and a parent, I am outraged and disgusted. As an attorney, Klein should know better. Isn't it time for him to be disbarred?

What do you want from Chancellor Klein? He is in a job that he is not qualified to hold. Seeing how the mayor is running the school system, he seems unqualified as well.
