Note To Self: Save This One For Class On Illogical Arguments

Whitney Tilson is so kind as to supply a textbook example of prejudice, as in pre-judging, for my class on illogical arguments. He reads the New York Post article on the “rubber rooms,” and opines

This NY Post article about the city’s rubber rooms highlights the many problems with this awful system, but leaves a misleading impression that there are lots of great teachers there, being punished for minor infractions by vindictive principals. This is total nonsense.

How does Whitney know this? Unlike the Post reporter, he didn’t talk to anyone in the rubber rooms. He didn’t talk to anyone in the union. Hell, he didn’t even talk to anyone in the DOE.

Evidence? That’s for folks who look at a question with an open mind, and for people who think that before you fire someone, you should actually have some proof that they did something wrong.

Not Whitney: he knows because he knows.

I followed the link and read a few of his posts. Why do you read this crud?

Pretend the Post just made things up. (Which isn’t always so far away from the truth). That’s what that blog is like. Talk radio screaming points, in 10 pt pixels.
