It was great. She gave an analysis and history of the “reforms” of the Bloomberg administration, and answered many questions. I walked away full of thoughts.
She gave some reading suggestions. The two that I noted were “Avoidable Losses: High-Stakes Accountability and the Dropout Crisis” by Linda McNeil et al., and Doomed to Fail: The Built-in Defects of American Education by Paul A. Zoch.
It is encouraging to hear her speak, both because the wisdom resonates with me, and because I see how much more I have to learn.
