You decide for yourself, but our first reaction was that this post, written in reaction to this story of 18 teachers receiving last day ‘U’ evaluations based solely on student scores on a standardized diagnostic exam, could not be for real. It was as if Susan Ohanian had taken over the body of Michael Goldstein [currently sitting in for Andy Rotherham at Eduwonk], and produced a parody of how one of her ‘standardisto’ opponents might respond.
When some of Goldstein’s “venture capitalist” friends tear themselves away from the rigors of golf and firing people and spend enough time in an inner city school to learn a few things about the challenges of teaching reading, we might actually care what they think.
