Support Our Schools Rally on Feb. 3

Support Our Schools Rally, Feb. 3On Feb. 1 and 3, the Panel for Education Policy will vote on the DOE’s proposal to close 25 city schools.

Parents, teachers, community members will be there, outside Brooklyn Tech HS, united with the message: Closing struggling schools rather than working with them and offering them the support they need to serve ALL their students is not educational “reform” — it’s educational neglect. Spread the word!

How about a “Wall Street Bankers’ tax” rally to drive home the important point that they should pay for their folly not teachers and children? It seems Bloomberg has made teachers into scapegoats for the excesses his fellow capitalist pigs on Wall Street.

There’s a lesson to be learned from recent event is Cairo and Tunisia . People must be willing to make sacrifices if they are truly committed to making a difference.
In support of the tens of thousands if not millions of Egyptian who have put themselves on the line we owe it them and to ourselves to get out there today and show Bloomberg and Black (B&B) that we will not be silenced by the fear mongering and their “threats”.
