Mike Klonsky’s Small Talk has a devilishly funny take-down on the newest contribution of New York’s high society to education, venture capital financed “Democrats for Education Reform.” This new entity is dedicated to attacking Democrats from the base social classes some as of yet unidentified, mysterious target on education issues. There’s nothing like the aristocracy in action, providing us ignorant common folk with the benefits of its blue blood wisdom on all matters from interior decorating to schooling.

Hey Leo,
I hope this posting is “all in fun” because, if taken seriously, it is an unfortunate ad hominem attack.
“Democrats for Education Reform” isn’t dedicated to attacking any group of people. It is dedicated to supporting policies that will help to educate kids. For example, they were big supporters of raising the charter cap.
Why would you write “some as of yet unidentified, mysterious target on education issues”? Are you suggesting you don’t know what issues this group supports?
For other readers (because I think you know this), “Democrats for Education Reform” was founded by people that are very much involved with public education and have been for years. I believe that they have great intentions, great ideas, and already have made great contributions. That is why I support them.

Ken:
I guess you don’t see the humor in Mike Klonsky’s mocking the pretensions of those who think their inherited wealth makes them expert of everything.

Klonsky ought to know about wealth, inherited or expropriated, making you red AND expert. Remember that great photo, Leo, of Chairman K in China toasting with Hua Guofeng? It’s a keeper. Wish I’d kept it.
